History Day is a free event for students, researchers and history enthusiasts alike to explore collections from 50+ libraries, museums, historical organisations and archives. This year we return to an in-person fair for the first time since 2019, while retaining opportunities to join in online. As part of History Day 2023 on 23 November the ‘Discovering historical collections‘ session will help students and history researchers of all types to explore and discover historical material. The expert panel will introduce a range of discovery resources, aimed at locating both published material and a wide range of archives.

Speaker at previous History Day

We will hear about cutting-edge services from panel members and examine opportunities and challenges for discovering the raw materials of historical research. The session will include plenty of time for questions, so please bring them to the session!”.

The panel members are:

The session will begin at 11am GMT on 23 November, immediately followed by the History Day fair. Attendees can join in person in London, or online.
