The National Gallery
https://www.nationalgallery.org.uk/
The National Gallery, established in 1824, houses the national collection of paintings in the Western European tradition from the 13th to the early 20th century. The Gallery’s aim is to care for the collection, enhance it for future generations – primarily by acquisition – and to study it, while encouraging access to the collection for the education and enjoyment of the wides possible public, now and in the future.
The National Gallery Research Centre supports the Gallery’s strategic aims and ensures that its resources are made available to the widest possible audience, including both national and international visitors and digital users, as well as Gallery staff. It has primary responsibility for managing, conserving, and providing access to the Gallery’s archive and library collections.
