History Collections

Find out more about history collections and History Day

Information for participating organisations

For all contributors 

Please could you send us a square gallery image to represent your organisation on the ‘Discover Collections’ menu page (square minimum 500 x 500px). Logos or single images of, for example, your library work best. We can reuse previous images if preferred.  

Submitting an online contribution 

If you are submitting online content, the deadline for sending them in will be Friday 3 November. 

Ideally, we’d prefer you to send us links to it hosted on your own website. We can host if this option is not available. Please could you also include: 

  • A short title for your contribution(s) (up to 65 characters inc. spaces) 
  • For videos: Ideally share a link to a self-hosted video, e.g. YouTube, vimeo. If this is not possible, please send in mp4 format via Dropbox, WeTransfer or similar.

Setting up a stall 

Address: Ground Floor, Senate House (South Block), University of London, Malet St, London WC1E 7HU  

You can arrive from 10.30 on Thursday, 23 November, to start setting up stands. The fair will run 12:00-4:00PM.

You will be provided with a table and chairs. Each table will be provided with two chairs but additional ones are available if needed. The tables will measure: H 750mm x W 1800mm x D 750mm.

A limited number of display boards will be available. You are welcome to bring pop-up banners or similar, tablecloths, promotional materials. If you would like to request a display board (on a first come, first served basis), please contact us via email. 

Power and WiFi 

Power may not be directly available at all stands, but there will be shared locations available to charge devices.

Wifi will be available via ‘UoL Conferences’ wifi network (no password required)

Getting items delivered 

Deliver on the day only to History Day registration area, ground floor, Senate House. 


Tea and coffee will be available throughout the afternoon. Lunch won’t be provided but there is an onsite café.

Promoting History Day 2023

For promotion for History Day 2023 we are using the hashtag #HistDay23. It would be great if you would share news of the event from @SenateHouseLib & @ihr_history social media channels to your followers, alongside promotion through your own networks. There are poster and designs for Facebook (Image 1 | Image 2), Twitter/X (Image 1 | Image 2), Instagram (Image 1 | Image 2) and LinkedIn (Image 1 | Image 2) available for you to use.
