Information for participating organisations

For all contributors

Please send us a square gallery image (minimum 500 x 500px) to represent your organisation on the Discover Collections menu page. Logos or single images of, for example, your building work best. We can reuse previous images if preferred.

The deadline for sending square images is Thursday 17th October.

Submitting an online contribution

If you are submitting online content, the deadline for submitting them is Thursday 17th October. Contributions can include videos, online galleries, blogs, web resources, or anything else that you’d like to share.

Ideally, we would prefer you to send us links to content hosted on your own website. If this option is not available, we may be able to host, please get in touch to discuss this. Please could you also include:

  • A short title for your contribution(s) (up to 65 characters inc. spaces)
  • For videos: Ideally share a link to a self-hosted video, e.g. YouTube, vimeo. If this is not possible, please send in mp4 format via Dropbox, WeTransfer or similar.

We will not be providing display boards this year, but you are welcome to bring pop-up banners and other materials to decorate your stands.

Promoting History Day 2024

The event booking page URL is: https://www.history.ac.uk/events/history-day-2024.

For promotion for History Day 2024 we are using the hashtag #HistDay24.

We would greatly appreciate if you would share your online content and news about the event by tagging the @ihr_history and @SenateHouseLib social media channels with your followers, as well as promoting the event through your own networks.

There are poster designs available for your use on your social media channels or for printing:

10th anniversary activities

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of History Day, we are running some activities alongside the main fair.

These include:

  • ‘History Day bingo’ (with a chance to win a prize)
  • a scavenger hunt (with a chance to win a prize).

For our scavenger hunt, we are looking for organisations to answer the following questions, from which we will choose some answers to be included.

  • What is a fun/interesting fact about your organisation?
  • What should people ask you about at History Day? (Is there a particular part of your collection you want to tell everyone about? A mysterious or unsolved object or source you hold? An upcoming event? What would you be able to talk to people about all day at History Day?)
  • Is there an interesting artefact, document, primary source, or other object that you’ll be showing on your stand? Please send us an image/some images.

If you’d like to get involved, please send your answers/any images to historyday@london.ac.uk with the subject line “Scavenger hunt answers” by 23rd October. Thank you! We look forward to seeing your answers.
